Ebi-Chan Black Hooded Rex - Pluto Husky

August came from quite a bad pedigree. The litter wasn't meant to be, and his mother also came from such a litter. August's brother Artur was one of the first to die and we had to put August away not long after. It was an unwise decision to get them boys, but when Skruttan had passed away and Tamora had found a new home I was desperate after new rats...

When Artur was gone, we castrated August as I feared he wouldn't be able to live with others otherwise. The operation went fine and afterwards August was one of the most relaxed and soft minded rats I've ever had.

He lived happily together with Sidney, Benjamin and Rufus for a while, before his body gave up. The lounges and kidneys and probably liver too. I put him away, and the veterinarian we were to was so great that it'll be one of my best memories together with August. He fell asleep so peacefully and then she put him away and you could see he didn't feel the slightest pain or panic. It felt good, he was in pretty bad shape but he till hadn't begun to suffer too much. I'm sure he has it better now.

He wasn't one of my closest rats, but he was kind in his own way. I'll never forget his last month when he slept in the food and the others suddenly started to be so careful around him. Or how he all of a sudden actually liked me to groom him, something that he never had liked much before. But as he couldn't groom himself properly I guess my help was welcome.
